The Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway: A New Milestone in India’s Road Network
- The Bangalore-Mysuru highway, which has recently been built, is scheduled to be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 12th.
- The Bangalore-Mysuru highway project, which stretches over a distance of 118 kilometers. The primary aim of this project is to reduce the travel time between Bangalore and Mysuru, which previously took around three hours, to just 75 minutes. This major infrastructure development is expected to have a significant impact on the economic growth of the region by providing a faster and more efficient mode of transportation for people, goods, and services. The new highway is expected to improve the connectivity between the two cities and beyond, thereby boosting trade and tourism in the region.
- The total cost of the Bangalore-Mysuru highway project is estimated to be around Rs. 8480 crores.
- The Bangalore-Mysuru expressway is designed to provide a seamless and uninterrupted travel experience. The access-controlled, 6-lane roadway will feature 69 bus bays, 49 underpasses, 13 overpasses, and fencing on both sides.
- The expressway will also include several greenfield bypasses, including a 22 km bypass for Ramanagaram and Channapatana, an 8 km bypass for Mandya, a 10 km bypass for Srirangapatna, a 4 km bypass for Maddur, and a 7 km bypass for Bidadi. These bypasses will enable commuters travelling between Bangalore and Mysuru to avoid major towns and enjoy a smoother and quicker journey.
