- The government has granted permission for the release of the nano DAP fertiliser, according to fertiliser cooperation IFFCO, which launched nano liquid urea in 2021.
- Mansukh Mandaviya said in a tweet that, “After nano urea, the government has now given approval to nano DAP as well.”
- Awasthi had previously stated in December that IFFCO would soon introduce nano DAP at a price of Rs 600 for a 500-ml bottle.
- This action will aid India in saving foreign currency and drastically cut down on government subsidies.
- The price of one bag of DAP, which currently costs Rs. 1,350, will be equal to one bottle.
- After urea, DAP is the second most popular fertiliser in the nation. Of the estimated 10–12.5 million tonnes of DAP used annually, only around 4-5 million tonnes are produced locally; the remainder must be imported.
- Nano DAP is also anticipated to help reduce the non-urea yearly subsidy.
