Chinese espionage with yet another Global threat attempts
- China continues to grab attention for extending its global espionage operations in the heat of accusations of election manipulation and secret police stations around the globe.
- Moreover, the recent Chinese balloon adventures grabbed international attention. Early in February, a US Air Force F-22 Raptor fighter jet shot down a Chinese balloon that had crossed the country.
- The recent Chinese spy balloon over the United States, according to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, poses security difficulties for both the 30-member alliance and other nations.
- The NATO chief said, “The balloon over the United States confirms a pattern of Chinese behaviour where we see that China has invested heavily in new capabilities, including different types of surveillance and intelligence platforms.”
- According to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the US intelligence community was looking into the balloon and the United States will keep its friends and other nations that might be the target of Chinese espionage informed.
- Furthermore, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Wenbin said that, “The illegal intrusion of airspace of other countries by U.S. balloon is also commonplace. Just since last year, the U. S’s high-altitude balloons illegally entered Chinese airspace more than 10 times without the approval of the relevant Chinese authorities.”
