India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2023 Indian Premier League season due to a shoulder injury. The 25-year-old sustained the injury during the first Test against England at Edgbaston last month.

“Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 season due to a shoulder injury,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a media statement.

Bumrah recently underwent surgery in London and is expected to be out of action for six months.

The Gujarat pacer made his IPL debut in 2016 and has since been a regular in the Mumbai Indians squad. He has played 72 matches in the IPL and has picked up 97 wickets.
