Redevelopment And Beautification Of Parks For The G20 Meet

As India is hosting the G20 summit this year, various preparations are going on for the Summit. The G20 summit meetings are starting from February to September. Delhi the capital of the country will be the host of G20 meetings. Thus, the Horticulture wing of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has decided to redevelop various parks for the event. 

PLACES TO BE REDEVELOPED

MCD hired various professionals for redeveloping and beautifying several parks. Parks are the vicinity of commercial hubs and areas of high footfalls. Parks that will be redeveloped will are,

  • Saket 
  • Vasant Vihar 
  • GK-1 M Block 
  • Jamun Wala Park 
  • Qutub Park 
  • Sarvodya Enclave 

WORK

Redevelopment of various parts of the park is going on. Along with this development of selfie points and art, installations will also be done. 

The department is also working on utilizing scrap materials to create art installations. They will be utilizing old disused vehicles, old play equipment, scrap from yards, and many more. These will be used to create a fountain, airplane, and boat-like structure. 

G20 LOGO

The main attraction of the life-sized logo of G20 is made up of metal artwork. It is going to be a 9-foot 3D structure.
