World’s second-largest highway is getting constructed to connect Delhi and Mumbai. The express highway is 1350 km long, making it the world’s 2nd largest highway. More than one lakh crore is being spent on this highway. It is expected to be started by this December.
DELHI TO LALSOT
It is expected to start the express between Delhi to Lalsot. The opening of the express highway, from Delhi to Lalsot, has been done by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on 28th January, during his visit to Rajasthan. There are three checkpoints in each district. The distance between Delhi and Lalsot is 380 km. over 17 thousand crores has been spent on this express highway in Rajasthan
Other highways which led to Lalsot from Delhi are as follows.
- Babdikui-Alwar Express Highway is 282 km. The total time required for travel is 5 hours and 8 minutes.
- Jaipur Highway is 302 km. The total time required for travel is 5 hours 52 mins.
NH 48 SPECIAL FEATURES
- This highway is 1350 km long. It is the World’s 2nd largest green-field express highway.
- There are expected to be rest areas, which will consist of helipads, trauma centers, petrol-CNG pumps, and ATMs.
- An ambulance will be present every 30 km.
- Only entry and exit will have toll points.
- The highway is of 8 lanes. Four more lanes will be added.
- 2-2 lanes for in and out will be only for electric vehicles.. making it the World’s 1st express highway dedicated to electric vehicles.
