Shimla, July 26: An NCC student died due to drowning while taking bath in Nautikhad of Sunni police station area of ​​Shimla district. The incident took place on Wednesday evening at a place called Chaba. The deceased student has been identified as Kush Thakur (20), resident of Arki district Solan.

According to the information received from the police, an NCC camp was organized in the government school of Sunni from 16 to 24 July. After the end of the camp, some children returned to their schools and homes. While 25 children stayed in the camps of various schools. On Wednesday, under the supervision of camp in-charge Shyam Lal, these children went to Chaba in Nautikhad to take bath and wash clothes. During this, a student Kush Thakur got into the water to take bath. While bathing, he started drowning. Seeing him drowning, his friends tried to save him, but he could not be saved.

A police officer said that the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem and the reasons for the accident are being investigated.
