Shimla, 08 September: A flood warning has been issued in Shimla, Sirmaur and Solan districts on Sunday as the monsoon is expected to weaken from Monday. The weather department has warned people to remain vigilant, although rainfall is likely to reduce in the coming days.
Despite the yellow alert on Saturday, only a few areas of the state received rain, while most areas remained sunny with light clouds. Mandi recorded the highest rainfall of 13 mm, while Shimla recorded 3 mm and Dalhousie 2 mm. In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded in many areas, while some areas received heavy rain.
The weather department said that some areas may receive rain on Sunday, but no further alert has been issued. There is a possibility of change in the weather pattern from Monday, where the high hill areas will remain dry, while the central and plain areas of the state may receive light rain.
