Hearing started in SC on the petition of filmmakers against the ban on ‘The Kerala Story’ in West Bengal and the defacto ban in Tamil Nadu. A bench of CJI DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha is hearing on this. The makers of ‘The Kerala Story’ have filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking lifting of the ban on the film in West Bengal.

Producers say losses are happening everyday–
In fact, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday ordered an immediate ban on the screening of the controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’ in the state to avoid ‘any incident of hatred and violence’. The producer says that Tamil Nadu has also imposed a defacto ban and other states are threatening to ban it. The manufacturers are incurring losses everyday.
