A delegation of the technical wing of All India Electricity Labour Federation of Sirmaur district met Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta today.
The delegation sent a demand letter to the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner regarding many demands including its OPS. Union General Secretary Ranveer Singh said that a memorandum of nine demands has been presented to the Prime Minister and the Union Energy Minister through the Deputy Commissioner. He said The demand of the union is that the central and state governments should form a joint authority and discuss the problems of all the electrical workers. The employees demand that they should also be given the benefit of OPS pension and the out source workers should be regularized by making a policy.
All the electricity, electricity sectors and all the electricity employees in the whole of India should be reinstated by stopping the new pension scheme and OPS should be reinstated and secondly, all the outsourced employees in the electricity sector should be retained on top of the contract. They should be regularized and a policy solution should be given for them and we believe that there should be a joint venture between the state government and the central government so that further improvements can be made in this power sector.
