Shimla News: Martyr Rampur’s Pawan Dhangal In Pulwama Gets Kirti Chakra Posthumously
Pawan Kumar Dhangal, the brave martyr of Pithvi village of Rampur sub-division of Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla, who was killed in an encounter with terrorists in the village of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on 27 February 2023, is going to be posthumously honored with Kirti Chakra.
In Pulwama, South Kashmir, India, after the Rashtriya Rifles received input that terrorists were hiding in the village, an entire contingent of the Rashtriya Rifles was sent to lay siege, in which Constable Pawan Kumar a brave man from Pithvi village of Rampur sub-division of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, was killed.
Last year in 2023, the dead body of martyr Pawan Kumar, who brought it to his home Pithvi village of Rampur sub-division of Shimla and the special operation colleagues, had told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that the Rashtriya Rifle Team conducted a search operation in the entire village, but the terrorists were not found anywhere.
Lastly, when the Rashtriya Rifle teams started the search operation in the village mosque, the brave Pawan Kumar of Pithvi village of Rampur sub-division of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, was the first to go inside the mosque.
The terrorists sitting in ambush inside the mosque opened fire suddenly. In the entire firing, a brave comrade was hit by bullets, then Pawan Kumar pushed back the injured comrade, who was handled by another comrade, in the meantime the terrorists opened fire on the brave Pawan Kumar also. Pawan Kumar got injured in the entire attack. Brave Pawan Kumar caught the terrorist hiding inside the mosque while he was still injured, threw him on the ground and sat on his chest. Injured Pawan Kumar held the muzzle of the terrorist’s gun and turned it upwards. Pawan Kumar’s hand was also completely burnt due to holding the gun near his mouth. Another terrorist hiding inside the mosque fired bullets indiscriminately at Pawan Kumar’s back, due to which the injured Pawan Kumar lost a lot of blood from his body and Pawan Kumar could not be saved by the doctors.
Shishupal Dhangal, father of martyr Pawan Kumar of Pithvi village of Rampur sub-division of Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla, told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that all the officers including Pawan Kumar’s then colonel informed him on phone that martyr Pawan Kumar’s name will be posthumously honored. Martyr Pawan Kumar has been selected for the Kirti Chakra. Also, Shishupal Dhangal, father of martyr Pawan Kumar are going to be informed by phone from Delhi on or before 15th August. Martyr Pawan Kumar will be posthumously honored with the Kirti Chakra Award by President Draupadi Murmu.
Block Committee Vice President of Pithvi village of Rampur sub division of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Rupeshwar Singh, Jury Panchayat Vice President Arun Sharma, Badhal Panchayat Vice President Sanjay Jintu, Vyapar Mandal Jury President Jai Prakash Dhangal, Secretary Sunil Sharma, Arvind Sood, Moon Light Youth Club President Deepak Verma and Devraj Negi told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that martyr Pawan Kumar getting Kirti Chakra posthumously was a moment of pride. Martyr Pawan Kumar had completed his primary education till class 12th from Jury School.
