Real Madrid of Spain is the richest football club in the world. It generated a revenue of Rs 6075 crore in 2017-18. Spain’s only club is Barcelona at number two. Its revenue is Rs 5580 crore. UK accountancy firm Deloy has released the Money League report of the world’s 20 richest football clubs.
Deloy analyzed the club’s earnings for this report. This included broadcasting rights, commercial deals, match day revenue, ticket earnings etc. The total income of these 20 clubs is Rs 68 thousand 640 crore. This is 6% more than last time. The major portion of the club’s income comes from broadcasting revenue. The share of broadcasting revenue is 43%. Nine of the top-20 teams are from England, four from Italy, three each from Spain and Germany and one from France.
This is Deloy’s 22nd report on the earnings of European football clubs. According to the report, there are 6 big English clubs in the top-10. This is the first time that so many clubs from a country are in the top-10. United were on top the last two times.
