Ola Electric, which hit the headlines a few weeks ago due to a flood of complaints, has announced that it has resolved 99.1% of them to customer satisfaction. India’s largest electric vehicle maker shared this update during a filing to the stock exchange. The company had previously received a show-cause notice from the CCPA earlier this month regarding the high number of complaints. Read on to know what Ola Electric said in its official statement.
Harish Abhichandani, Chief Financial Officer, Ola Electric, said, “We would like to reiterate that Ola Electric has a robust mechanism to address complaints related to our vehicles. In fact, we would like to emphasise that 99.1% of the 10,644 complaints we received from the CCPA were resolved to the full satisfaction of the customer as per Ola Electric’s comprehensive redressal mechanism.”
Kunal Kamra, the comedian who previously had a heated exchange with Ola Electric founder Bhavish Aggarwal, took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to Ola’s claims. He said, “99% of consumer complaints being resolved means 99% of the bikes are working? Hard to believe. If you are among the 1%, write your story below.” Kamra encouraged those whose complaints have not been resolved yet to share their experiences.
As per customer complaints, Ola Electric scooters are plagued with issues such as multiple manufacturing defects and unprofessional behaviour of service staff. Moreover, spare parts for the scooter have also become difficult to find, leading to significant delays. The company is also allegedly indulging in unfair trade practices and misleading advertisements.
