Nitin Gadkari: Modi government boosted tourism in Himachal Pradesh by strengthening roads and highways
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Una/Kullu, May 29Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday addressed two huge public meetings in Una and Anni of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh and appealed to vote in favour of the candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Nitin Gadkari said that this Lok Sabha election is not an election to decide the future of Congress and BJP, but in true sense it is an election for the future of the country and its people and it is up to the people to decide which leader of which party can work properly for your future.
Gadkari said that the country had given 60 years of opportunity to the Congress party to run the government but the Congress party government only gave the slogan of Garibi Hatao but did not do any work on the ground.
Gadkari said that there are only two main sectors in the country, first agriculture and second industry, both the sectors cannot run without water, electricity and means of communication.
Nitin Gadkari said that there can be no employment without industry.There was no development in the agriculture sector during the 60 years of Congress Party rule.
Gadkari said that 60 percent of the people of India live in villages and the rest of the people migrated to cities because there was unemployment, hunger and lack of basic facilities in the villages.
Gadkari said that the Modi government has decided that industries will have to be developed at the rural level in the country, for which improving water, electricity, roads and communication facilities will be the primary task.
Gadkari said that Himachal Pradesh is a hilly state, so building new roads in Himachal is a very difficult task, but the Modi government has done a great job of building roads on a large scale in Himachal Pradesh.
Gadkari said that while being a minister in the Maharashtra government, I built the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, due to which former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave me the opportunity to prepare the plan of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.Today, the work of building paved roads in 4.50 lakh villages out of 6.50 lakh villages of the country has been completed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
Gadkari said that tourism in Himachal Pradesh is also completely dependent on road infrastructure, so the Modi government did the work of expanding roads on a large scale in Himachal Pradesh.
Gadkari said that the Modi government has approved the Lathyani Mandli bridge worth 900 crores in Una district, the work on which will start as soon as the government is formed at the Centre.
Gadkari said that today tourism is booming in Himachal Pradesh, the biggest reason for which is the strengthening of road routes.
Gadkari said that now we are reaching Lahaul in just 8 minutes through the Rohtang tunnel.
Gadkari said that the Modi government constructed tunnels worth 20,000 crores.Gadkari said that the Modi government constructed 8 tunnels from Lahaul to Leh Ladakh.
Gadkari said that the Zojila tunnel is going to be completed at a cost of Rs 5,500 crore, reduced from Rs 12,000 crore, which is going to become Asia’s largest tunnel.
Gadkari said that after the Chhedmor tunnel, the Modi government has constructed 8 tunnels from Srinagar to Jammu.
Gadkari said that Delhi to Katra will be connected to Katra Expressway and one can reach Delhi in 6 hours via Amritsar.
Gadkari said that I am not a leader who shows off, I do what I say and I fulfill all the announcements I make.
Gadkari said that we have to change the fate of the country, we have to change the country, we have to change our future, we have to make our motherland the world leader, we have to make the economy of 5 trillion.
Gadkari said that for all these works, it is necessary to have a government with right policies, under the leadership of Modi ji, our government will complete all these works and make the country prosperous and will fulfill the resolution of making India free from fear, hunger, terrorism, corruption.
Addressing a huge public meeting in Anni of Kullu district, Gadkari said that the DPR work of Jalori Jot Tunnel, which is going to be a 3 km long tunnel at a cost of 1 thousand crores, has been completed.
Gadkari said that the DPR of a 3.5 km long tunnel at Kurla between Kullu and Devendranagar at a cost of 600 crores will be completed by December 2024.
Gadkari said that the construction of Pathankot to Leh Highway is about to be completed and the construction of Kullu to Kangra Highway will be completed soon.
Gadkari said that a 6.5 km bypass in Sundarnagar on the Kiratpur Manali Highway will also be completed in June.Gadkari said that the Modi government is constructing tunnels by spending about 20 thousand crores rupees.
