Tuesday, February 20: 24-year-old soldier Happy Singh of Nagrota Bagwan assembly constituency of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh has attained martyrdom in Leh. Health of 24-year-old soldier Happy Singh, resident of Lili village, had deteriorated due to brain hemorrhage in the glacier three days ago. 24-year-old soldier Happy Singh died on Monday morning even before he could be admitted to the army hospital.

As soon as the news of the martyrdom of Jawan Happy Singh was received, a mountain of sorrow fell on the family. There is a wave of mourning in Lili village.

Martyred soldier Happy Singh father Vineet Kumar and mother Shyama Devi are in bad condition due to crying.

Local people of Lili village told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that soldier Happy Singh had been serving in the Indian Army for the last 4 years and it had been only 6 months since Happy Singh went to the glacier of Leh. Since the weather is bad in Leh, due to which a lot of problems are being faced in bringing back the mortal remains of Jawan Happy Singh. Martyr Happy Singh also has a younger sister Kajal. Martyr Jawan Happy Singh was recruited in 26 Punjab on 8 March 2020.

Martyr Jawan Happy Singh was not even married and was the only son of the family. The family was dreaming of their son Happy Singh marriage but before that he was martyred. The parents of martyred soldier Happy Singh were asked to come to Chandigarh. According to an Indian Army official, as soon as the weather improves in Leh, Happy Singh mortal remains are going to be taken to his home in Lili village by plane.

CM Sukhu said that India will always be indebted to Happy Singh and his family. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. May God place Shri Happy Singh at His feet and give strength to his family in this difficult time.
