Mandi : Landslides continue on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway near Mandi district
On the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, there is continuous falling of debris from the hill on the stone at the landslide site including six miles of Mandi district. In such a situation, it is becoming very difficult to remove the vehicle from the place.
Due to frequent landslides, the drivers are taking out the vehicles in the shadow of danger. Even this morning this road was blocked twice due to landslides. Additional Superintendent of Police, Mandi, Sagarchandra said that machinery is deployed at the landslide site and vehicles are being passed under the supervision of police personnel.
He has also appealed to the drivers to drive carefully on this route. He said – This is six mills on the national highway between Mandi and Pandoh where a lot of debris has fallen. So even today a tempo driver, as you can see in a video that went viral, has narrowly survived.
He had seen the initial stone falling, so he came back at full speed by putting back gear and was saved and if there was a lot of debris falling there, it would have been buried.
Therefore, police duty has also been imposed there. People are also warned to take special precautions while passing through this place. He told that the alternate route Kullu Katola also got blocked due to landslide near Salgi.
