Lok Sabha Elections: Yashpal Tanaik, An Active Congress Worker of 30 Years From Chaupal, Sought Ticket From Shimla Parliamentary Constituency
Yashpal Tanaik said that no Congress party worker belonging to Chaupal area has got any opportunity to go to Parliament till now. If the Congress party high command gives him a party ticket, he will achieve a landslide victory on this seat. Considering his political experience and his contribution in social service, he should get a chance to enter Parliament this time.

- Lok Sabha Elections: Now Yashpal Stakes Claim On Congress Ticket From Shimla.
Surendra Molta and Mohanlal have also applied for Congress party ticket from Shimla parliamentary seat on Monday at Rajiv Bhawan, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Congress headquarters. So far four applications have been made from Shimla parliamentary seat. Last week, former MLA Sohanlal had also applied. On Monday itself, Yashpal Tanaik also applied from Shimla parliamentary seat. Whereas, Gyan Chand has applied from Mandi parliamentary seat. No applications have been received from Kangra and Hamirpur yet. Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee has invited applications from Congress leaders willing to contest the Lok Sabha elections till February 15.
State Congress Committee General Secretary Yashpal Tanaik, who belongs to Kupvi of Chaupal, has applied for party ticket from Shimla parliamentary seat on Monday. He has submitted the application to State Congress Committee Office Secretary Gulab Singh Thakur. Yashpal Tanaik has claimed the Shimla Parliamentary ticket citing his association with the Congress party for nearly 30 years. Yashpal Tanaik was an active worker of NSUI from 1994 to 1997. He was the General Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Student Association in Panjab University from 1997 to 2000. From 2004 to 2006, he was made the General Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress. From 2007 to 2010, he was the Secretary of District Congress Committee Shimla Rural. Yashpal Tanaik has been the president of Chaupal block of Himachal Pradesh Congress SC department. From 2010 to 2013, he was the President of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization District Shimla. From 2013 to 2016, Yashpal Tanaik has also served as the General Secretary of District Congress Committee Shimla Rural. Yashpal Tanaik has also served as Vice Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Congress SC Department.
