36 leaders have applied to get Congress ticket for the Lok Sabha elections from four parliamentary constituencies of Himachal Pradesh. Maximum 16 leaders have expressed their claim from Shimla parliamentary constituency, 13 from Kangra parliamentary constituency, five from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency and two from Mandi parliamentary constituency.
Now the applications are going to be sorted and the names will be sent to the election committee. Congress party will conduct a survey on the shortlisted names. Apart from this, a separate survey is also being conducted to find the Congress party candidate.
Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee had invited applications from February 9 to 15 at the Congress Party Headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, Shimla. A fee of Rs 10,000 each has also been charged from each applicant.
No sitting Congress MLA, minister, chief parliamentary secretary and former MP has applied for the ticket.

Chairman of the Central War Room formed for Himachal Pradesh Lok Sabha elections and State Congress General Secretary Amit Pal Singh said that among those who applied from Kangra parliamentary constituency are Nanak Chand Kashyap of Noorpur, Sanjay Rana of Jaisinghpur, Satish Kumar of Nagrota Bagwan, Hatli Sihunta. Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma, Major General Dharamvir Singh Rana from Palampur, Sudarshan Sharma from Noorpur, Ashwani Kumar Chaudhary from Dharamshala, Vinay Sharma from Kangra, Vikram Chaudhary from Dharamshala, Kuldeep Rana from Baijnath, Dr. Rajesh Sharma from Dehra, KK from Palampur. Nageshwar Mankotia has applied for party ticket from Katoch and Kangra.
From Mandi parliamentary constituency Gyanchand Thakur from Jogindernagar and Vijendra Negi from Bhavanagar in Kinnaur district have applied for party tickets.
From Hamirpur parliamentary constituency Lieutenant Colonel DS Patial, Joginder Singh of Ghumarwin, Sabardin of Bilaspur and Ramchandra Pathania and Captain Atul Sharma of Bhoranj have applied.
From Shimla parliamentary constituency Former MLA Sohan Lal from Shimla Rural, Surinder Singh Banolata from Theog, Yashpal Tanaik from Chaupal, Mohan Lal Banolata from Theog, Dr. Ashwani Kumar from Mashobra, Meghraj Dhangta from Kotkhai, Gurdayal Singh Panwar from Nahan, Advocate Ram Kumar from Baddi, Shimla. Dharmila Harnot from Rural, Dr. Pankaj Musafir from Pachhad, Kaushal Mungta from Jubbal, Sohan Lal Jilta from Rohru, Birendra Jalta from Pajhauta Rajgarh, Buddhi Ram Jasta from Theog, Amit Nanda from Shimla and Prem Dogra from Chaupal Have applied for a party ticket.
