Himachal Pradesh government is also going to purchase the world famous potato seeds of Lahaul at a higher price of Rs 200 and all the potato seeds.
Himachal Pradesh State Government has fixed the correct rate of selling potato seeds of Lahaul this year at an expensive price of Rs 4,700 per quintal.
Last year, Himachal Pradesh government had fixed the price of potato seeds of Lahaul at Rs 4,500.
Himachal Pradesh State Government is also going to purchase potato seeds of world famous Lahaul at the rate of seven thousand rupees per quintal bag this year.
On the other hand, the demand for purchasing potato seeds of world famous Lahaul is increasing from all other major states of India.
Lahaul Potato Producers Association (LPS) of Lahaul Spiti district has sent about twelve hundred bags of the world famous potato seeds of Lahaul to the soldiers of Kargil.
Lahaul Potato Producers Association (LPS) has taken an important decision of keeping fifty kilograms of potato seeds in a sack.
Apart from Himachal Pradesh, preparations have been made by Lahaul Potato Producers Association (LPS) to send the world famous potato seeds of Lahaul in large quantities to all the outside states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
On the other hand, in Lahaul now all the vegetables have started replacing the world famous potato seeds with peas.
This year, the production of peas and potatoes is continuously decreasing compared to previous years, due to which the Lahaul Potato Producers Association (LPS) is most worried.
This year, along with Lahaul Potato Producers Association (LPS) and two other registered institutions, Lahaul’s world famous potato seeds have been purchased from all the farmers at approximately Rs 4,500 per quintal bag.
Major varieties of seed potatoes from world famous Lahaul, Kufri Jyoti, Chandramukhi and Kufri Himalayan have been included.
Potato seeds of Lahaul are the main cash crop and the main source of income for the farmers.
While addressing the Diary Times press conference, President of Potato Producers Association (LPS) of Lahaul, Sudarshan Jaspa, said that the Agriculture Department of Himachal Pradesh Government has fixed the rate of potato seeds of world famous Lahaul at Rs 4,700 per quintal bag.

Lahaul Potato Producers Association (LPS) has also expressed happiness over the Himachal Pradesh government’s demand to purchase the world famous potato seeds of Lahaul at the rate of Rs. 7,000 per quintal.
On the other hand, Lahaul Potato Producers Association (LPS) has been sending approximately twelve hundred quintal bags of world famous potato seeds to the soldiers of Kargil for the last three consecutive years.
