Kangra News : During the heavy rains in the state, so far the Public Works Department in Kangra and Chamba districts has suffered a loss of about six hundred crore rupees. NP Singh, Chief Engineer in the Public Works Department of Kangra Zone said that due to rains, landslides and other reasons About one hundred and four roads were closed, the work of opening them is going on and some roads have been opened for traffic.
He said that the water level of the Pong dam is increasing and due to the water released from this dam from time to time, about eighty kilometers of roads are still under water, on which the department is keeping an eye.
NP Singh told that the damage to the road will be properly assessed when the water recedes. He said – our total loss till this time is close to 600 crores. Out of which our 104 roads are closed as of today, 20 of our roads will be opened today and remaining 4 will be opened tomorrow. Eighty which will be opened after tomorrow, that too will depend on the weather.
And at the same time he said that it all depends on the coming weather because if the weather turns bad again then surely there can be more damage.
