
G20 summit 2023
G20 Meeting: Ahead of the India-US annual Biopharma and Healthcare Summit, a top Indian official has urged G20 countries to cooperate and focus on evidence-based research.
Scientists, academicians, industrialists and officials of both the countries are to participate in this summit. India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant said in a statement issued by the USA-India Chamber of Commerce (USAIC) on Sunday, “I urge G20 member states, businesses, academics and scientists to ensure preparedness in health systems.” and collaborate and focus on evidence-based research and analysis to build adaptive global supply chains.
USAIC to hold summit on May 3
USAIC also announced to hold its 17th Annual Biopharma & Healthcare Summit on 3rd May.Amitabh Kant said that G20 member states share common responsibility to ensure robust and resilient health systems to provide health security to citizens Are.
He said that the Research and Innovation Initiative Gathering (RIIG), Science20, Startup20 under G20 aims to achieve socio-economic equity through research, innovation, partnership and collaboration.
Apart from Kant, other officials and industrialists of India will address the conference. These include Dr. Vinod Paul (Member, NITI Aayog), Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Dr. Shiv Sarin and Dr. Krishna Ella. Dr. Robert Califf, Commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration, will also participate in the summit.
