Bilaspur, June 30: A shocking revelation has been made in the case of the murder of taxi driver Harikrishna, who was kidnapped from Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla.

According to the murder case, taxi driver Harikrishna was returning after taking two youths from Punjab to Manali. On the pretext of drinking tea in Bilaspur, both the accused youths from Punjab stopped the taxi driver Harikrishna and kidnapped the driver Harikrishna. The accused first strangled Harikrishna with a towel and then disfigured his face by hitting him with a stone. After this, the body was taken to Kiratpur and thrown into the canal. On Saturday, the police arrested both the accused Jaskaran Jot, age 20 years and Gurmeet Singh, age 27 years, from Malerkotla and Mullanpur in Punjab. Bilaspur District Police Administration Superintendent Vivek Chahal has confirmed the arrest of both the accused from Punjab in the murder case.

Taxi driver Hari Krishna used to drive a taxi in Shimla and was originally a resident of Ram Shahar in Solan district. Hari Krishna has a tour and travel business near Victory Tunnel in Shimla. On June 24, Hari Krishna took two tourists from Punjab in his taxi (HP01A-5150) from Tara Hall Shimla to Manali. On June 25, at around 8 pm, he spoke to his son Deshraj on the phone and told him that he had reached Barmana and was returning after dropping the passengers at Bilaspur. After this, his phone was switched off and he could not be contacted.
Harikrishna’s murder revealed through CCTV footage –
The CCTV footage of Bharadi Ghat Kayarda Petrol Pump showed Harikrishna’s taxi being driven by a passenger and another passenger accompanying him. Harikrishna was not seen in the taxi, but a person was seen sleeping on the back seat. Harikrishna’s mobile was switched on at 2:26 pm on June 26 and the location was found to be in Namohal, Bilaspur.
