Himachal News : Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur met Defense Minister and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi
Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari separately in New Delhi. He thanked the Central Government for extending cooperation to Himachal in the event of disaster.
Jairam Thakur urged Nitin Gadkari to visit Himachal Pradesh to take stock of the damages caused to roads due to heavy rains and landslides in the state. On this occasion, Nitin Gadkari assured all possible help to the state.
Jai Ram Thakur said that due to the natural calamity, the infrastructure of roads in Himachal has been badly damaged. He met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and thanked him for the relief and rescue operations carried out by the army for the flood victims during the disaster.
He said that army helicopters have saved the lives of hundreds of people trapped in the flood.Jairam Thakur said that in this hour of calamity, the Central Government has extended a lot of help to Himachal, for which the people of the state are grateful to them.
He alleged that instead of thanking the Centre, the Himachal government was making baseless allegations. The leader of the opposition said that relatives of Congress MLAs and leaders who are not holding any position are distributing relief funds to the victims. He said that this is very unconstitutional and unfortunate and this amount should be distributed by an official of the government only.
