The government has started preparations to demand Himachal’s share in Bhakra-Beas Management Board and Chandigarh. A cabinet committee meeting was held in Shimla today regarding the inter-state agreement made under the Punjab Reorganization Act. Chairman of the committee Chandra Kumar and members Harshvardhan Chauhan and Jagatsingh Negi participated in it.

During this, feedback was taken regarding the matter going on in the Supreme Court regarding BBMB and Chandigarh’s stake. The hearing of this matter will be held in the Supreme Court on 26th July.

Chandra Kumar said that Himachal has 7.19 per cent rights in Chandigarh and the state is demanding it. He said – like BBMB Vyas project, BBMB project. We had also claimed that we should get twelve percent free electricity. We have also attested this point in the Supreme Court.

But the ratio proportion that we have is 7.19 percent Share which is one eleven seven to eleven approximately five hundred tier point eleven crores becomes ours and that is above the rate of BKS. This BKS rate which was without thermal transfer which was our project, claim should be processed on that. We should be given the claim which is above that rate. So we are attesting all these things in the Supreme Court.
