Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today took stock of damage caused in Thunag market due to heavy rains and floods at Thunag in Seraj assembly constituency of Mandi district.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced an assistance of one lakh rupees to the flood-affected families.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to bank the drains flowing along Thunag so that any such disaster could be prevented in future.
The Chief Minister said that the family whose house has been washed away in the flood will be provided land by the government to construct the house at a safe place.
He instructed the local administration to remove the debris from the market soon. The Chief Minister also visited the Thunag market extensively and interacted with the affected people and inquired about their well-being.
He expressed confidence that the state government is with the people and affected people of Thunag in this hour of crisis and all possible help will be provided for their rehabilitation.
