Himachal News : Central team reached Himachal to take stock of the damage caused due to heavy rains in the state
The central inter-ministerial team has reached Himachal to take stock of the damages caused by the natural calamity caused by heavy rains in the state. The team is headed by Ravinesh Kumar, Financial Advisor, National Disaster Management Authority.
The team is taking stock of the damage caused due to floods, landslides and cloud bursts in the state. The team members today visited the areas of Parwanoo, Jabli Panchayat’s Suji, Dharampur’s Siyardi, Sultanpur and Shamti areas affected by heavy rains. Took stock of the damage done.
The central team will reach Shimla on July 21 after visiting disaster-hit Solan, Kullu Manali, Mandi, Kinnaur, Shimla districts. In Shimla, the central team will meet Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena along with other officials and submit a report to the Centre.
After this team returns to Delhi, Himachal is expected to get more interim relief to deal with the disaster. So far, a loss of about eight thousand crore rupees is being estimated from each project in the state.
Out of this, the loss of about five thousand crore rupees has been assessed. The maximum loss has been caused to the Jal Shakti and Public Works Department.
Apart from this, the electricity board has also suffered huge losses. The state government is demanding an immediate relief of Rs 2,000 crore from the center for relief and rescue operations in the disaster affected areas.
