Himachal News : The Central Government has approved the PM E bus service. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said that fifty seven thousand six hundred crore rupees will be spent on this scheme and ten thousand new electric buses will be run in one hundred and seventy nine cities of the country.
Anurag Thakur said – You all know that there are many reasons for the state governments not being able to pay for buses, or the lack of public transport facilities. But where the population is high, the bus service is also very successful, where numbers have increased
But as seen in the survey, still a huge number of buses are required. Where about ninety one thousand buses are required. So 91000 buses in this PM PM E bus service in the first phase which we are starting which will run two thousand thirty seven.
So ten thousand settled here, you are bringing a private player. Operations is his responsibility, from the bus depot to the back end, you are giving money for the infrastructure and the liability gap funding per kilometer is being helped by the Government of India, so that the project becomes viable and therefore it is taken on the challenge method. It is going to be that Government of India is giving the rest of the money on whatever bid he makes. So it will be a viable option for the states, it is going to be profitable in most of the places. That’s why this project has been made in that way.
