Ghumarwin, September 11: Congress president Jagir Singh of Ghumarwin in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh has taken moral responsibility and resigned from the post of Ghumarwin Congress Mandal president. He took this step when his son’s name came up in the drug trade. Jagir Singh, who resigned, says that he has taken this decision taking moral responsibility for the mistakes of a family member.
It may be noted that the special team of Bilaspur police has recovered 45.60 grams of chitta from a car (HP 01B 2009) by setting up a check post in Gara Moura. Police have arrested Anil Kumar (38) son of Jagir Singh, resident of village Padyalag, post office Dadhol, tehsil Ghumarwin, and Gaurav Sharma (30) son of Mahendra Pal, resident of village Dakri, tehsil Ghumarwin, who were travelling in the car.
A case has been registered against the arrested accused in Swarghat police station. The police is investigating the matter thoroughly and trying to find out from where this consignment of drugs was brought and who all are involved behind it.
Jagir Singh’s resignation is being seen as an example of moral responsibility in the area. He said that following ethics while living in public life is most important and there is no moral right to remain in one’s post when a family member is involved in such activities.
