Hamirpur: CM Sukhu announced to give two crores for the boys hostel of Neri Mahavidyalaya

Shimla, August 17: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today interacted with the students at Horticulture and Forestry College Neri in Hamirpur district and gave them suggestions to move forward in life. The Chief Minister announced to give two crore rupees for the boys hostel of the college.
He said that the horticulture sector has an important contribution in strengthening the rural economy. After tourism and renewable energy sector, horticulture and agriculture are the most important sectors, which can increase the income of farmers and will also strengthen the rural economy. The Chief Minister said, “Money should go into the hands of the people of the village, that is why the present Congress government has made many provisions in the budget to strengthen the rural economy.”
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that new courses should be started in accordance with the challenges of the future and the university should consider starting a course in bio-informatics. He said that in the coming time, the government will fill the posts of experts in the horticulture sector, as many projects related to this sector are going to be implemented. He said that the state government has set a target of making Himachal Pradesh a green energy state by March 31, 2026 and we are moving forward in this direction.
He said that in the coming time, electric vehicles will be provided to government departments. He said that a one megawatt capacity green hydrogen plant is being installed in Nalagarh with the cooperation of Oil India Company. Apart from this, a 32 megawatt solar power project has been completed in Pekhubela of Una district in a record four months.
The Chief Minister said that the present state government inherited a poor financial system from the previous government. He said, “We decided that a routine government cannot run, the debt culture will have to be stopped. Otherwise, what will we hand over to the younger generation. Despite the poor financial situation, we gave old pension to 1.36 lakh government employees. Many times difficult decisions have to be taken for the welfare of the society. We are moving forward in the direction of making Himachal Pradesh self-reliant. Our government is working hard.”
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released two books of the university ‘Basic Techniques of Micro Propagation and Molecular Biology’ and ‘Value Added Products of Guava’.
On this occasion, MLAs Suresh Kumar and Captain Ranjit Singh Rana, Kangra Cooperative Bank Chairman Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Kangra Cooperative Primary Agriculture and Rural Development Bank Chairman Ram Chandra Pathania, APMC Chairman Ajay Sharma, former MLAs Anita Verma and Manjit Dogra, Congress leader Subhash Datwalia, Congress leaders Dr. Pushpinder Verma and Rajiv Rana, District Congress President Suman Bharti, Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh and other dignitaries were present.
