Do you know what is ‘Global South’?
The term Global South began to be used broadly to refer to countries that had been left out of the industrialization phase and were in ideological conflict with the capitalist and communist countries that had been reinforced by the Cold War. This mostly includes countries in Asia, Africa and South America. Furthermore, the Global North or ‘Global North’ is essentially defined by an economic divide between rich and poor countries. The ‘Global North’ broadly refers to countries such as the US, Canada, Europe, Russia, Australia and New Zealand. The ‘Global South’ is an important region because of its large population, rich cultures and abundant natural resources. Additionally, understanding the Global South is important for addressing global issues such as poverty, inequality, and climate change.
