On Thursday, District Magistrate Dehradun Sonika along with other departmental officers reached Triveni Ghat. He inspected the entire area and gave necessary directions to the officers. Earlier, Secretary Public Works Department Pankaj Pandey had come here and instructed all the departments to complete the preparations within 15 days.

District Magistrate Dehradun Sonika reached Triveni Ghat Rishikesh under G-20 to take stock of the preparations for the proposed Ganga Aarti. He inspected the main Aarti place. He said that due to rains in the last week of the month, the water level may increase partially, for this the Irrigation Department will have to prepare.
After inspecting both the main road coming to Triveni Ghat and the alternative route connected to Mayakund, the District Magistrate directed the concerned authorities to make these routes more accessible, remove encroachments and beautify the entire area. He told that the government has received a letter in this regard from the Prime Minister’s Office. On which it has been asked to work on the possibilities of Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat. The administration had already started preparations at its level. Proposals of all the departments were sought, now work on these will start soon.
On this occasion MDD Secretary Mohan Singh Burnia, Additional District Magistrate Administration Ramji Sharan, Additional District Magistrate Rishikesh Saurabh Aswal, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Municipal Corporation RS Rawat and all the prominent officers were present.
