The pace sensation Shivam Mavi emerged as the most expensive bowler, with defending champions Gujarat Titans acquiring his services for INR 6 Cr. Teams and Players

• The IPL this year will feature 243 players, including both overseas and Indian talent, spread across 10 teams. The tournament will span 70 games, providing many opportunities for fans to enjoy the action and witness their favourite players in action.
• Over the course of 52 days, 70 league-stage matches will be played at 12 different venues.
• The TATA IPL 2023 will have 18 doubleheaders, with the day games starting at 3:30 PM IST and the evening games starting at 07:30 PM IST.

IPL 2023 Schedule

• The 10 teams will be split into two groups – Group A and Group B. Each team will participate in 14 games, with seven being played at home and the other seven being away fixtures. The team will play 10 matches against teams from the other group (two against each of the five teams), with the remaining four games being played against the four remaining teams within the same group.
• The groups are as follows:-

Group A– MI (Mumbai Indians), RR (Rajasthan Royals), KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders), DC (Delhi Capitals), and LSG (Lucknow Super Giants).

Group B– CSK (Chennai Super Kings), PBKS (Punjab Kings), SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad), RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore,) and GT(Gujarat Titans).

• This year, the teams are divided into two groups, with each team participating in 14 group-stage matches. They will face the teams within their own group once and the teams in the other group twice, both home and away.
• The first match of the IPL 2023 season will feature the reigning champions Gujarat Titans (GT), captained by Hardik Pandya, taking on the four-time title winners, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. his highly anticipated match-up is set to play in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium, on the 31^st of March from 7:30 PM IST onwards.
• The first double-header day of the season is on April 1, 2023, featuring Punjab Kings (PBKS) versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Mohali and Lucknow Super Giants versus Delhi Capitals in Lucknow.
• The final league match of the season will be held in Bengaluru on May 21st between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) with the game scheduled to commence at 7:30 PM IST.
• The dates and locations for the Playoffs and finals are yet to be announced. However, it has been confirmed that the TATA IPL 2023 final will take place on May 28, 2023.
