Shimla, September 15: An FIR has been lodged today at Kotkhai Police Station against the social media account “@TeamSaath” for posting an objectionable message calling ‘Nati’ artists terrorists. The traditional dance performed during the religious festival “Jagra” is a beloved cultural practice in Himachal Pradesh, and this post has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the people, leading to widespread outrage.
The objectionable post is being seen as an attempt to incite social discord, which has been strongly condemned across the state. ‘Nati’, an integral part of the cultural and spiritual identity of Himachal Pradesh, is a sacred tradition that has been followed for generations, especially during religious festivals like Jagra. Equating such an important part of the state’s heritage with terrorism has gone down well with many, who consider the comment an insult to their beliefs and values.
BJP leader Chetan Bragta has filed an FIR at the Kotkhai police station, demanding strict legal action against those responsible for the hate-mongering post. “Such irresponsible and divisive behaviour on social media will not be tolerated,” Bragta said. He stressed the importance of maintaining sanctity and respect for cultural and religious practices, warning that those who attempt to undermine social harmony will face legal consequences.
In his statement, Bragta also urged people to avoid engaging in or promoting negative content that may promote discord. He appealed to citizens to maintain peace and respect in society, stressing the importance of maintaining religious harmony.
The police are now investigating the incident, and strict legal action is expected against the individuals responsible for the post. Meanwhile, appeals for restraint and unity are resonating across the state as communities come together to protect their cultural heritage from malicious attacks.
