
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau expresses grief over loss of lives in Odisha's train mishap
Justin Trudeau expressed on Twitter that he was saddened after the painful images of the massive train accident that hit India on Friday evening came to the fore. He tweeted, “The pictures and news of the train accident in Odisha, India break my heart. I am sending my deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones and I am keeping the injured in my thoughts “
He also vowed that Canada would stand by India’s support as the country deals with the tragedy that killed more than 200 people and injured more than 900 others.
Many world leaders condoled the loss of lives in the train accident. Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is on a state visit to India for a period of four days, said on Saturday that he was “saddened by the death of dozens of people in a train accident today in Odisha, India.”
“In this hour of grief, I express my deepest condolences to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the government and the bereaved families,” he said. Earlier on Friday, there was a fierce collision near Bahnaga railway station in Balasore district of Odisha.
