German carmaker BMW is gearing up to launch the all-new M4 CS in the Indian market. The launch date has been set for October 4. It is a lighter but performance-oriented avatar of the M4 Competition.
The company has not yet revealed the pricing details. However, it is expected to hit the market with a higher price tag than the M4 Competition. It will feature some major track-focused updates, making it more powerful in the segment. The list includes improved aerodynamics, better power figures, and an improved engine.
Engine and Power
Under the hood, the upcoming M4 CS will use a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine that will generate a maximum power of 543 BHP and 650 Nm. These figures are 20 bhp more than the M4 Competition.
Is it better than the M4 Competition?
The M4 CS is said to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the current version. To make it more performance-oriented, the model has also lost 20 kg of weight, giving it an edge over the Competition. Much of the credit goes to the carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and titanium exhaust used in this mode.
Notable elements
Apart from this, the coupe also features stiffer springs, a retuned stability control system and anti-roll bars, which contribute to its overall driving, making it more composed and stable than before.
