Amid row over Taiwan comments, Macron set to visit Netherlands
French President Emmanuel Macron is set to travel to the Netherlands on Tuesday, following controversial comments he made about Europe’s priorities on Taiwan during a recent visit to China.
According to a statement released by the Netherlands Royal House, Macron’s visit reaffirms the ties between France and the Netherlands and will further deepen their cooperation, including joint efforts of the two countries to make Europe stronger, greener and safer. Will help
The French President will be accompanied by his wife Brigitte Macron.
Macron made the criticism during his three-day visit to China, saying Europe should not become a “follower” of Beijing or Washington and refrain from getting involved in any conflict between the two countries over Taiwan.
Meanwhile, during his upcoming visit to the Netherlands, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will officially welcome the President and his wife at Dam Square in Amsterdam.
During his April 11-12 visit, President Macron is expected to lay a wreath at the National Monument to the Martyrs on Dam Square.
He will visit the States General in The Hague and hold meetings with President of the Senate Jan Anthony Bruijn and President of the House of Representatives Vera Bergkamp.
The King and President of the Netherlands, Macron will take part in a roundtable discussion with CEOs, academics and investors on the European Chips Act and the importance of strengthening the European ecosystem for deep technology in the context of quantum technology.
