Shimla, August 15: After a meeting with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Dehra, the State Patwari and Kanungo Union has decided to return to work. During the meeting, the Chief Minister assured the delegation that their legitimate demands will be resolved with a positive approach.

The Chief Minister said that making Patwari and Kanungo a state cadre is a policy decision of the government. He asked Patwari and Kanungo to cooperate in this initiative of the government. He said that Patwari and Kanungo play an important role in implementing the government’s schemes on the ground. He said that the government is working on a mission mode to solve the problems faced by the common people and Patwari & Kanungo have a very important role in this. The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the government is committed to increasing their facilities. He said that the state government has restored the old pension scheme and the financial liabilities of the employees will be paid in a phased manner.

Satish Chaudhary, President of Patwari and Kanungo Association said that full dedication and commitment will be ensured for the implementation of all the schemes of the government. He said that all the Patwaris and Kanungos will donate their one day’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, MLAs Sanjay Rattan, Sudarshan Bablu and Malendra Rajan, former MLA Ajay Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary Omkar Chand Sharma, and other officials of Patwari and Kanungo Association were present.
