The Aam Aadmi Party has once again got success in the elections held on Wednesday for the mayor and deputy mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party‘s candidate Shaili Oberoi has been re-elected as Mayor of Municipal Corporation of Delhi after BJP candidate Shikha Rai‘s name was withdrawn from the mayoral election. On the other hand, after the withdrawal of nomination of BJP candidate Soni Pandey for the post of Deputy Mayor, Aale Mohammad of Aam Aadmi Party has been elected unopposed as Deputy Mayor.

Earlier, it was believed that like the last time, there could be a ruckus between AAP and BJP regarding the elections in the House.

BJP was trying to mess up the mayoral election- AAP

On the party’s candidates winning again in the election for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation, the Aam Aadmi Party said that ever since the Municipal Corporation elections were held last December, the BJP was claiming that the Municipal Corporation In Mayer will be his candidate. Although he did not have a majority.

It means that they were engaged in manipulations. But the way these people ran away from the elections before the voting, it is clear that there is something wrong in their house. It seems that the BJP was apprehensive that it might not get the support of even its 104 corporators. In the midst of all this, it has been proved once again that BJP was trying to mess up the municipal elections and when it felt that it would not be able to succeed in this task, it ran away from the elections.

Proposals can be discussed

After the election of mayor and deputy mayor in the meeting of the municipal corporation, the proposals on the agenda can also be discussed. By the way, till now it has been a tradition that after the election of the post of mayor and deputy mayor, the meeting of the House is adjourned and the proposal is not discussed, but there is a possibility of discussion on Wednesday, because there are 13 proposals involved in it.

These proposals include providing stationery to corporation school children as well as handing over corporation roads to PWD for cleaning.

BJP gave advice to councilors

In the meeting of BJP councilors on Monday, State President Virendra Sachdeva advised that the information about those who had betrayed last time has been received. Sources said that Sachdeva has signaled to the corporators that they (those who cross voted) have a chance to rectify their mistake.

So don’t make that mistake this time. Otherwise, there will be no delay in getting him out of the party. Councilors of other parties are continuously joining BJP. Preparation for the election has been completed. Two booths have also been set up inside the House for Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections. Along with this, the police have also been asked to provide security arrangements outside the house.

AAP probed the mind of councilors in dinner party

Earlier on Tuesday evening, a meeting of AAP councilors was held at a banquet hall in Mayapuri, where an attempt was made to disorient the councilors by advising them to vote in favor of their own candidates in the dinner party. Even though AAP has majority to make mayor, but in the elections both the parties are trying to dent each other’s number of corporators.

In the last election also such an attempt was made by both the parties. Ultimately, only two BJP councilors voted in favor of AAP candidate Dr. Shelly Oberoi.
