HPSEBL Registers FIR Over ₹11.84 Crore Loss in 2012

An FIR has been lodged against five individuals for allegedly causing a loss of ₹11.84 crore to the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) in 2012, following a complaint by the board’s chairman, Sanjay Gupta.
The accused include three retired HPSEBL officials and two former directors of Gilvert Ispat Private Limited. According to the FIR, the company, based in Barotiwala, was extended undue and unlawful benefits, resulting in significant financial loss to the board.
In his complaint, Gupta alleged that the then Chairman-cum-Managing Director of HPSEBL violated the supply code of the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission by granting an electricity connection to the company without recovering outstanding dues.
