Ukraine Seeks New Four-Year Loan Program From IMF

Ukraine’s Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said on Friday that the country is seeking a new four-year loan program from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Ukraine’s current $15.5 billion program with the IMF is set to expire in 2027.

“As you know, an IMF mission recently visited, and we raised the issue of a new program and the need for financing under it,” Marchenko told Ukraine’s parliament.

He said the total financing needed under a four-year program could range between $150 billion and $170 billion over the period.

Marchenko also informed lawmakers that Ukraine’s 2026 budget currently faces an unfunded gap of $18.1 billion.
