Flash Floods Hit Jibhi Region After Cloudburst

A sudden flash flood triggered by a cloudburst late last night caused extensive damage in the Jibhi region of Kullu district, affecting the villages of Marutan, Hidib, Shajwar, and Ghiyagi. Both public and private property sustained significant losses.
According to initial reports, the house of local resident Hari Ram was completely destroyed. A fish farm, a shop, and two other houses were partially damaged. The floodwaters also affected two temples and their adjoining grounds, six traditional watermills (gharats), a small bridge belonging to the Forest Department, four cowsheds, and a car.
Banjar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pankaj Sharma said a disaster response team was dispatched immediately after the cloudburst.
