Shimla, August 18. Mild tremors were felt in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district on Monday night after an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 struck the region.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the quake’s epicenter was located at latitude 32.23 and longitude 76.38, at a depth of about 10 kilometers beneath the surface. The tremor occurred at 9:28:36 p.m.
As the tremors were felt, many residents rushed out of their homes in panic, and fear prevailed in several localities for some time. Fortunately, no loss of life or property has been reported so far.
