Shimla, August 8 – Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh, in a press conference held in Shimla on Friday, briefed the media about her recent meeting with the Congress high command in Delhi. She said the meeting, chaired by Rahul Gandhi, included an in-depth discussion on strengthening the party in the state. The long-pending formation of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) executive and the appointment of a new president were also deliberated upon. The high command assured that the new executive would be formed soon.

Pratibha Singh stated that delays in forming the executive have been disheartening for party workers, and that a prompt decision is necessary to inject new energy into the organisation. She emphasised that the new executive should include experienced leaders alongside young faces, and that the party president should be someone accepted by all workers.

She stressed that both the party and the government must ensure respect and recognition for all party workers, as organisational strength is the result of everyone’s collective effort. She said she has raised this matter with the Chief Minister, requesting that dedicated party workers be given responsibilities in boards and corporations.

Pratibha Singh added that since assuming the role of president, she has worked to strengthen the organisation by taking everyone along, and she will continue to carry out any responsibility entrusted to her with full dedication. She recalled that former Chief Minister Raja Virbhadra Singh always encouraged her to work for the party’s strength, and she continues to follow his guidance.
