Mandi, August 4:
In protest against the police FIR registered over the alleged blockade of Cabinet Minister Jagat Singh Negi’s convoy in Seraj on July 26, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a major demonstration in Mandi. The protest will be held on Wednesday, August 6, at the district headquarters, with prominent party leaders including former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal, and Organization Secretary Siddharthan expected to lead the gathering.

The announcement was made by Mandi District BJP President Nihal Chand Sharma following a meeting. He alleged that the Congress government forcibly filed the FIR against BJP workers in Saraj, even though the protest was peaceful and within democratic norms. “The Congress turned a simple demand into an issue of confrontation, and we will now take to the streets to demand the withdrawal of the FIR,” he said.

On the occasion, the Mandi BJP also expanded its district executive committee. Manchali Thakur and Karanveer were appointed General Secretaries, while Rakesh Walia was named Media In-Charge. Six Vice Presidents, six Secretaries, and 44 other members were also inducted into the committee.

Sharma congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers and said the BJP is gearing up for upcoming elections with full strength, aiming to secure victory on all five seats once again.
