Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla Inaugurates First Cultural Evening of Minjar Fair

Shimla, July 28:
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla formally inaugurated the first cultural evening of the International Minjar Fair 2025 on Sunday by lighting the ceremonial lamp at the historic Chaugan in Chamba. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla was also present on the occasion.

During the event, the Governor paid tribute to the martyrs of Chamba district. Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the Fair Organizing Committee, Mukesh Repaswal, honored the Governor with a traditional shawl, cap, and the internationally renowned Chamba Thal — a metalcraft artifact representing the region’s rich artistic heritage.

In the presence of the Governor, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between the district administration and ICRT India Foundation to provide free advisory services and training under the Responsible Tourism initiative in the district.

The event was also attended by Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, MLAs Neeraj Nayyar and Dr. Hansraj, DS Thakur, Chairman of the District Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee Lalit Thakur, Governor’s Secretary C.P. Verma, and several other dignitaries.
