Dharamshala, May 21:
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has re-declared the Class 12 examination results for the session conducted in March 2025. In a press statement, Board Chairman Hemraj Bairwa said that the results were initially announced on May 17, 2025, but have now been revised and reissued on May 21, 2025. Students can check their updated results on the board’s official website, www.hpbose.org, using their roll numbers.
This year, 86,373 students appeared for the Class 12 board examinations. Out of these, 76,315 students passed, while 3,838 were placed in the compartment category, and 5,868 were declared failures. As per the revised results, the overall pass percentage stands at 88.64%, reflecting a strong performance across the board.
In light of the revised results, the board has also extended the deadline for revaluation and rechecking applications. Students can now apply until June 5, 2025. The fee is set at ₹1,000 per subject for revaluation and ₹800 per subject for rechecking. Applications will only be accepted online through the respective school user IDs on the board’s official portal; submissions through any other mode will not be considered.
The decision to revise the results follows widespread complaints from teachers, private schools, and parents regarding unexpectedly low scores in the English subject. Upon investigation, it was found that due to a technical error, the answer key for the cancelled March 8 English exam was mistakenly used during evaluation instead of the one corresponding to the rescheduled exam. Acknowledging this issue, the board opted to correct and reissue the results.
HPBOSE clarified that a final merit list will be published after the revaluation and rechecking process, ensuring fairness and transparency in awarding marks to students.
