Una, May 17:
Mehak, a brilliant student from Una district, has made history by securing the top position in Himachal Pradesh in the Class 12 board exams conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education. A student of St. D.R. Public Senior Secondary School, Gagret, Mehak not only topped the Science stream but also claimed the overall first rank across all streams with an impressive 486 marks out of 500 (97.2%).

Her subject-wise scores are a testament to her exceptional academic prowess:

  • English: 88

  • Physics: 99

  • Chemistry: 99

  • Mathematics: 100

  • Computer Science: 100

Mehak lost just 4 marks across Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Computer Science, achieving near-perfect scores in each of these challenging subjects. Her only shortfall was in English, where she scored 88 — a commendable mark, though slightly lower than the rest of her outstanding performance.

Had she managed to score a few more marks in English, her overall percentage might have touched 98% or even 99%, possibly pushing her final tally closer to 488 or even 495. Nevertheless, this minor gap does little to diminish the brilliance of her achievement.

The atmosphere at her school is jubilant. Teachers and school authorities have praised her dedication, discipline, and work ethic. Her parents, Naseeb Kumar and Gurdev Kaur, expressed immense pride and joy, calling it a moment of inspiration for the entire family.

Mehak’s remarkable result is more than a personal triumph — it’s a beacon of motivation for students across Himachal Pradesh. She has proven that with determination and hard work, no goal is beyond reach.
