Sirmaur, May 15:
When the Himachal Pradesh Board announced the Class 10 results, an interesting detail stood out. While the overall state topper Saina Thakur scored an impressive 98 in Sanskrit, two bright students from Nahan — Shivam and Anurag Thakur — achieved a perfect 100 in Sanskrit, proving that with dedication and preparation, no subject — not even a classical language — is beyond mastery.
Not only did Shivam excel in Sanskrit, but he also secured full marks in Mathematics and Computer Science, earning him the seventh position in the state merit list. Interestingly, Anurag Thakur, a standout student of Career Academy, mirrored Shivam’s achievement with a perfect score in the same three subjects — Sanskrit, Mathematics, and Computer Science. A student of Shishu Vidya Niketan School, Anurag also matched the state topper’s score in Hindi with 98 marks. Both students share the seventh rank in the state merit list.
It’s a remarkable coincidence — two students from a relatively small town delivering identical top-tier performances in the same subjects. While the overall state topper narrowly missed a perfect score in Sanskrit, Shivam and Anurag shattered the notion that achieving full marks in language subjects is nearly impossible. Their excellence in both traditional and technical subjects demonstrates a well-rounded academic capability.
Their success is not just a personal milestone but also a reflection of Nahan’s growing academic environment, the support of committed teachers, and strong family backing. School authorities, teachers, and proud parents have all congratulated the two on their exceptional achievements.
Shivam and Anurag’s performance is proof that with clear intent and honest effort, even students from the Himalayan foothills can make their success echo across the state.
