Shimla, May 12:
A state government spokesperson announced today that the government remains fully committed to providing electricity to farmers at highly subsidized rates. He confirmed that farmers will continue to receive power at just ₹1 per unit, with the government bearing a subsidy of ₹4.04 per unit. An official notification to this effect has been issued.
The spokesperson acknowledged that due to a slight delay in issuing the notification, some farmers may have temporarily received electricity bills at the higher rate. However, he assured that any excess amount charged will be adjusted in upcoming bills, offering timely relief.
He emphasized that the current government places the welfare of farmers as a top priority and is taking all necessary and effective measures to support them.
