Shimla, May 9: Chief Parliamentary Secretary Keval Singh Pathania met with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today and requested immediate steps to ensure the safe return of Himachali students currently studying in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in Srinagar.
Pathania informed the Chief Minister that many parents were growing increasingly anxious about the safety of their children amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. He noted that around 103 students from Himachal Pradesh are currently pursuing their education in the region, and their families are urging the state government to ensure their safe return.
In response, the Chief Minister affirmed that the safety and well-being of Himachali students is a top priority for the state government. He assured that every possible measure would be taken to bring them back safely. He directed the Chief Secretary to coordinate immediately with the Jammu & Kashmir government and initiate all necessary steps to facilitate their safe return.
